This Privacy Policy explains how WeCanna ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use our website and app (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details — the username and email address you sign up with, and a securely hashed version of your password (we never store your password in plain text).
- Support messages — anything you send us through the Help center or support tickets.
- Payment information — when you buy a booster or POL top-up, payments are processed by our payment provider (PayPal). We receive a confirmation and a transaction reference, but we do not see or store your full card number. Card handling stays with the payment provider.
Information created by using the Service
- Your CxC balance and ledger activity — mining sessions, rewards claimed, redemptions, and internal transfers on our CannaChain ledger.
- Wallet address — an internal CxC address is associated with your account. If you choose to bridge CxC on-chain, the destination Polygon address you provide.
- Social activity — friends, contacts you save, direct messages, and General Chat posts.
- Technical data — basic information your browser sends (like device type and approximate timing), used to keep the Service working and secure.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data. Please don't send us information like government ID numbers or health data through support unless we specifically ask for it to resolve an issue.
2. How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Run your account, track your CxC balance, and process mining rewards and redemptions.
- Process booster and POL purchases through our payment provider.
- Provide support and respond to your tickets.
- Keep the Service secure — detect abuse, fraud, and violations of our Terms.
- Send you notifications you've opted into (for example, push notifications about mining or messages).
- Improve how the Service works.
We do not sell your personal information, and we don't run ads that pay to target you based on private account data.
3. Public and shared information
Some things are visible to other users by design:
- Your username appears on your General Chat posts and to people you interact with.
- Anything you post in General Chat is visible to all users of the room.
- Leaderboards may show usernames and mining-related standings.
Direct messages are intended to be private between you and the other person, but remember that the person you message can read and keep them. Don't share anything in chat or DMs you wouldn't want another user to have.
4. On-chain information is public and permanent
⚠ Blockchain transactions can't be deleted
If you bridge CxC to the public Polygon blockchain, that transaction — including wallet addresses and amounts — is recorded on a public ledger that we do not control and cannot edit or erase. This is how public blockchains work. Only bridge on-chain if you're comfortable with that permanence.
5. Who we share information with
We share information only where needed to run the Service:
- Payment providers (such as PayPal) to process purchases.
- Infrastructure providers that host our servers and keep the Service online.
- The public Polygon network, only for transactions you choose to make on-chain.
- Authorities, if we're legally required to, or to protect the safety and rights of our users and platform.
We don't share your information with advertisers or data brokers for their own marketing.
6. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information: passwords are hashed, private keys for the treasury are never stored on the web server, and access to sensitive systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security — but we work to keep your data safe and to fix problems quickly if they arise.
7. Your choices and rights
- Access and correction — you can view and update key account details in your profile.
- Notifications — you can turn push and other notifications on or off in your profile settings.
- Deletion — you can ask us to close your account and delete your personal data by opening a support ticket. Some records may be retained where we're legally required to keep them (for example, transaction records), and on-chain transactions can't be deleted.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your data. Contact us through Help and we'll do our best to honor them.
8. Children
The Service is not intended for anyone under 18, and cannabis-themed content is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. When we make material changes, we'll update the effective date at the top, and where appropriate we'll let you know in the app. Continuing to use the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
